I had the red brake light on in the dash, and I checked my brake fluid. It was a tad low so I added some brake fluid, and now my brakes are almost non responsive. I used to be able to lightly hold my foot on the brake pad and it'd work just fine, but if I hold my foot in as hard as I can, it's barely enough to over come idle moving me.

The _only_ thing I did was remove the filler cap, add fluid from min->max and put the cap back on. I've never had this problem with another vehicle, what is going on?

We bled one of the brakes and it had nothing but fluid coming out, no air. We made a mess so we didnt do the other 3, until we can run into town and get some tubing to catch the fluid. I'll finish up tomorrow and let you know what happens

hmmm well give it a try but I didn't pick up on how serious you are making it sound in my first read. I wouldn't think a little air after toping the fluid off should leave you barely able to keep it still at idle, of course it is a rover and stranger things have probablly happened.

1/4" ID. Make sure it's clear so you can see the fluid as it comes out.

Well we finished bleeding the brakes and it still didnt work. So I started poking around the fluid reservior. I can not think of what could have caused this, just by filling up the darn fluid.

So.. I look around some more, and I notice the vacuum line running to the master cylinder was just sitting on it, not actually pressed down onto it. Yeah, so that was the problem, stupid vacuum line.

:-)

didn't you hear anything? if the vac.line from the intake to the booster is disconnected, it makes quite a loud hiss.
