To replace the oil pan gasket in a 95 disco, do i have to remove other stuff? Like the steering damper or what? thanks for any help. |

You have to unbolt the sway bar's retainers, letting it hang down, in order to easily slide the pan out of there. It's "possible" to wiggle it to get it by, but, it's a REAL big PITA, and if you put RTV around the lip of it, there's no way to get it back in there w/o smearing it if you don't drop the swaybar first. You don't have to fully remove the swaybar, leave the ends of it in place, and only remove the retainers... two bolts on each side. Good luck, -L

I've had good luck just raising the body so the axle drops down. It will give you enought clearance to do the repair |
