This is the stabilizer bar for the LR OEM Hella lights mounted on the brushguard:

Last year I hit a 100lb. deer at 50mph and lost one of them (bent the brush guard too and that was about the extent of the damage). I lost the screw holding it to the grill while off-road so I put a cable tie on it to keep it from shaking and before I had a chance to put a screw in it I hit the deer and it completely disapeared...luckily not through the radiator though. I asked Hella about one but they didn't make them and the people that did no longer have any. The LR dealer wants $70 for the pair and 6 screws. Screw that!

My plan was to just make two new ones using 1/4" rod and 1/4" rod couplers with left-handed treads on one side and right on the other so I can adjust it easily but I can't find any. I would make the correct rod coupler out of hex stock but then I would have to buy a left-handed tap & die set! I could always take a 1/4" turnbuckle apart and use it but it wouldn't look as good as solid stock.

The OEM one is made out of threaded pipe/tube, a 1/4" rod, and a nut so I may just make it like that one even though I don't really like the way it adjust's and tightens.

This should probably be posted in the classifieds but its also a technical post so live with it :-) I'll buy the lights too if anyone wants to get rid of all of it because I could always use the extra lights on the roof rack.

My lights shake going down the road and I can't stand it anymore!!! Does anyones lights shake on there roof rack? I know Hella has new & better mounts out that keep that from happening but what about the original LR ones? Maybe its just my stainless steel brushguard that acts like spring steel and amplifies the vibrations from my tires, engine, off-road, etc.
