I know that there are alot of parts that can interchange between a RRC and a Disco I. My question is, does anyone know if the window regulator is one of them? I have not disassembled my door yet to see what it looks like and the doner RRC has not been stripped yet either. If they are the same I can save about 75 bucks on the replacements I need for my front doors.

Mike:
There are some variations, but, there is a very good chance they will be interchangeable, depending upon build date-if both vehicles were built after (or prior to) the date of change, the parts will fit, if not, they might.

Peace,
Paul

No on the window regulator, unless as Paul mentioned, there are some variations between the years. I was looking for one for my '95 Disco and went to pull the regulator off Slade's '90 RRC. The inner door frames were different and the mounting of the regulator was also different.

I think a better bet would be calling up the Cannibal and requesting a used Disco regulator.

Jason:
If you had gotten the window regulator that was from a Rangie after they went to the Disco style interior, you would have been all good.

I probably should have said that a post-94 Rangie would be identical. But, Mike didn't give the year for the Rangie. Check your parts manuals, you'll find they are identical, depending upon build dates-that's where I got my info.

As for Slade's truck, there's no tellin' what those parts originally came from!

Paul, Mike was asking about a RRC, I was answering about a RRC...

As was I. According to my parts lists, the parts for the widnow regulators were interchangeable between the two if built in the same model year.

RTC 3514 and RTC 3515

So then...'94 and '95 are the only sure bets...

OK, I went back and looked at my parts lists. A front window regulator from a mid-90 through mid-95 FOUR-DOOR RRC will fit a Discovery through June of '95. The two door Rangies use completely different units from the Disco. The 88-mid 90 RRC used a different style of regulator. The interchangeable part number is RTC 3814 and RTC 3815 for each side (I don't remember which was which).

Mike:
If the right side front regulator is still available, how much? I've only needed it for nearly two years and 60K miles.

Jason:
Slade's is/was obviously an early 90 Rangie.

Peace,
Paul

Slade's is a 1990. So c'mon...mid-90's through mid '95...??? What's that? Only the '94 and '95 model years???

BTW, wasn't the two-door Rangie last made in the early 80's?

OK, I'll make it clearer, there was a change in mid 1990. The parts for Discos and and Rangies made between mid 1990 to mid 1995 are interchangeable.

My parts catalog lists two-doors until mid 92

Sorry Paul, I was reading mid-'90 thinking "mid-nineties," as in '94, '95, '96.

I'll check to see what the build date on Slade's 90 was.
BTW, have you ever seen any newer 2-doors stateside? I guess I'm no longer debating they exist, but whether the US ever saw them...
