I found these HID conversion kits for the Land Rover H4 headlamps. The cost for the kit is $425.00. I don't know the exact contents of the kit, but you would need to upgrade the harness to handle the additional current. Does anyone have these or have any comments? I would like to upgrade if the kit is complete. Chris |

Any H4 HID kit would work. I don't think you have to upgrade the harness. The bulb is powered by a high voltage ballast which includes the wires coming out of it that go to the bulb and the wires that go to the original harness. More power (70 watts for about 2 seconds) is initially used upon warmup of the HID bulb but uses less power to run (35 watts). What bulb and ballast do you plan to use...? There are so many bulbs that produce differant colors and now they have ballasts that can adjust the power output to change the intensity. Please post before and after pics when you do it. You can get the kits for under $400 now too. |

Where do you find this sort of thing? I need a new bulb but I'm not sure that's it's worth the $4xx for me right now instead of $11 or whatever for a bulb. I'd rather put that money towards sliders, not that I have $400 to spend on the truck at all right now... John, I asked you about your HID lights a month or so ago in another thread. Nice to see you answering here! |
