I broke my right fog lamp off roading in my 98 disco, and I am not paying over $200 to get it fixed at a dealership. My plan is to cut off the whole bottom half of the bumper where the fog lights are locared. Then, I want to get Hella 4000's to attach to the grille guard. My question is how do I do this, what tools are needed, and will the existing wiring harness from my foglights fit into the new Hellas. I have read several comments but i am still unsure of the process. any help will be greatly appreciated. |

all you do is......... get under your bumper and their are like 8-10 bolts holding the air dam on, take these bolts off. The air dam will not come off yet though. Remove the side mouldings that make the side of the bumper look pretty and that connects to the air dam. Now everything will come off. Ok now get a dremel or razor blade of some sort. Hold the side mouldings up to the bumper in their ussual position and mark with a pencil or something a line to cut, for when you put them back on you won't have fangs, but an even line with your bumper. Thats it, no science involved. As with the wiring harness (factory) You wouldn't want to hook them up to 4000's , maybe 500's but i'm no electritian. Also their are hundreds of instructions on how to take the air dam off in the archives. I even have a thread all my own when i first got my truck. i know i rambled, but i'm a led zepplin fan. |

Factory wiring harness will handle some 500s (provided you don't upgrade from the stock 55w bulbs) anything else is too much though. Your new 4000s should come with their own harness though (unless you get them used) they aren't hard to hook up |

Thanks Carter- what i really want to do is use the factory fog light switch inside to control the hellas, so this is why i want to use the existing wires. |

can still use the switch. just disconnect the wiring behind the switch, and connect the new wiring. this switch is hooked to Hella wiring and was put in by myself, bought the switch completely separate from Rover Connection.
then just used .110" female connections to connect to the pins on the back of the switch. make sure to use the correct relays for the lights and you should be good to go. |

I think the only difference between the bumper on the le and lse is the color and nothing structurally. |

existing wiring could be used if you are just putting on Hella 500's or so. Any higher wattage lights, and you will need to upgrade the wiring and need relays. So 55w max would be safe. |
