I got my Air Suspension replaced with the coil conversion kit from Atlantic British a few months back but am not satisfied. The conversion works great but I want more ride height. I had the standard springs that came with the kit installed and upgraded to Bilstien shocks. As of now I sit at what was approximatly normal ride height and that is just not enough for me. I did take it off road last year a few times with the air suspension but now am afraid of doing that with my low ride height. Does anyone have any recommendations of what I should upgrade to and where I should get it from? My main goal is to turn this once $68k vehicle into a capable off road machine that is suitable for daily driving as well.

Thanks,

Rk

Rhett:

I just talked to Eric at AB a couple of days ago about the 4.0/4.6 conversion kit and they now offer the same kit but with springs that result in a 1.5 to 2" lift above normal ride height, and you can fit 265/75/16 tires. Maybe they will give you a price break or trade-in. My future project will be a RR 4.0 and that is the kit I will be looking at, the price for the lifted conversion is $1049 instead of the standard kit at $949. Another option might be is to fabricated some spring spacers or find some OME springs that will give you the lift, but at this time it would be trail and error to find one that will give you the lift you want, you could remove the springs, measure them and find some that are taller, expeditionexchange.com has the OME spring lenght charts.

I just got off the phone with John at RoverTym and he said he can provide me with new sprngs that should work with my new bilstien shocks to provide an additional 2" of lift for $295. What do you guys think?

Get them, thats a good price, alot of people on this board use rovertym springs and seem to have had good luck with them, I just ordered some of his rock sliders for my RRC and most everything I hear about Rovertym products is that it is top notch. Keep us updated, I would be very interested in how your lift turns out.
