because I know it is a minor fix. Can anyone tell me where the glovebox light is located (95 Disco)? I lost the center dash console lights a month ago and it's driving me nuts.

Fling the ridicule my way all you want, but just tell me how to fix the damn thing!

A board novice but a Disco veteran,

If I recall you have to pop the glovebox out so it swings all the way down. I recall I was able to access the lamp when I did the "Rear Electric Window" PCBoard fix in the Tech section. By the way you do not actually have to remove the hinge to do any of that, the glovebox swings all the way down and clear of the opening. Very easy.

Don't fear us, New Member Molly. Fear leads to hate...and hate leads to the dark side. Before you know it, you will be driving a jeep or an H2.

Bite your tongue Greg! Jeeps or H2s . . .never. The ever-leaking Rover and I are in it for the long haul. I intend to pass Disco down to my nephews when I'm done with it.

Thanks for the help. Now, how about adding heating elements to my front seats?

hey Molly, do you mean add the switches to see if you have heated seats, or actually adding the elements to your seats?

if you are trying to add the whole thing, good write up here: http://www.discoweb.org/seatheater/index.htm

but, before you do that, if you have power seats (must be power), you may (i stress may) already have the elements in your seats and just need to add the switches.

I'm not even sure that heated seats were an option in a 95 Disco. First you'd have to verify if heated seats was even an option, then you can start thinking about switches and elements.

If heated seats were not even an option in 1995MY, you could have all the elements and switches in the world but no wiring harness to connect them to.

yeah, i have no idea either, but the 95's still have the space where the switches go, and if they were available to Rangies at the time, there is always a chance that something slipped over to the Disco manufacturing line. with these trucks, you just really don't know until you check.

Thanks for the help on the glovebox light folks. Found and fixed it. I'll know tonight whether it corrects the dash light.
One little problem. When I was unhinging the glovebox, the hinge whipped off and the spring popped off. I cannot get the spring back on.
Please tell me I don't have to buy a new one.

No Molly those springs on either side just pop on the little swingarms. There is only one way for them to go on nicely and then you have to feed the cam part back up through the slot in the dash upon re-assembly. It's a little counter intuitive the way they slip on but it will all go back together.
