Same problem I have that is driving me nuts. When this happens if you shift down into 3rd does the vibe go away? And then do the RPM drop off in 3rd, even though your pushing the pedal thru the floor? It is not VSS, plugs, wires, etc. Have you tried running Techron fuel additive thru it?

again to me it sounds like driveline issues. e.g. u joints, rotoflex, etc. are the vibes in the entire vehicle or just the steering wheel?

Mine does this at 60mph to almost 70mph. On my truck I feel certain it is the tires out of balance.

Hello everyone, I have the same problems in my post this evening. I can't see it being tires if it only happens under load(accel). I am thinking valves sticking causing cylinders not to perform, throwing the engine out of balance and vibrating........ take foot off pedal, vibes go away, put foot on pedal vibes reappear. I want answers, i want the truth, can i handle the truth?

do i have to say this again? fucking driveshaft issues folks. rotoflex, u joint, etc.
check the cheap shit first.......balance, etc. then start checking the bigger items.

I'm with Garrett

check the simple shit first

u-joints/rotoflex's go bad

wheels toss weights

check the same old culprits before you start screaming valves

My transfer case problems were the exact opposite. I originally had a clicking noise which evolved into vibrations....as long as I was accelerating I did not have vibrations but once I let off the gas it would shake the entire vehicle. I checked everything: I rebuilt one of the hubs (leaking anyways), I greased the u-joints, etc. Finally, after running it with the wheels off the ground I diagnosed the problem as the transfer case. I had a really bad clunk when turning sharp (parking spaces, etc.) and since replacing the t-case all problems are gone.

I would definitely not jump to the conclusion of the valves, your engine would have to be running horribly to cause that much vibration...if you could even call that running at all.

Its most likely the driveline, I would suggest running the vehicle off the ground either on a lift (in-ground, cylinder type) or put 2 jack stands under each axle. With it idling in drive you should be able to tell where the vibration is coming from.

Dean, I have been chasing this exact problem for 6 months. The "speed window" at which it happens has enlarge to 40 - 70 now. I have run the truck on stands; it vibrates. I have removed one drive shaft at a time; it vibrates. I reinstalled drive shaft one at a time but removed the opposite end drive axles; it vibrates. I do have some looseness in the front output shaft of the transfer case which allows for radial movement (8 mils) of the shaft. I feel this may be our problem, I just have not gotten around to changing that bearing. Can anyone confirm the allowable amount of slop in this bearing and could this cause the whole truck vibration? It is NOT an engine problem.
We need help.
