Hey Folks,

I am trying to find a latching winch hook (like the one pictured), but silver.

From the Recovery Gear Website:

Hook

I have found many places that sell the open hook but not the closed hook.

Master Pull has a non-swivel version. But I am still looking for a swiveling silver hook.

Hmm,

Does it have to be specifically designed for winching, or would you be fine with any hook as you described thats rated high enough?

Cheers,

Kennith

Not exactly the hook you described, but it is a swivel, locking hook in Non-Yellow color. :-)

Hmmmm $90.80 ....and I paid about $18 for that silver one...good find though. Perhaps the cost will just be prohibitive!

Found it. In silver up to 7.5 ton working load limit. Don't know the price though.

Actually, they have the same thing in an alloy steel version that has working loads up to 11 tons. The ultimate load is listed as 5 times working load.

To find this hook, click link and scroll down to Safety Hooks section. This is item 2.2 under safety hooks called simply swivel hook.

Great site! They also have Evans large shackle there. I guess you have to email them for prices?

No real wheeling in Ga. I took the truck out to our farm on Sunday afternoon and did some fishing and playing around. We have around 85 acres in South Georgia with mainly pine trees and about 12 acres of lake on it. No real off roading challenges, although with a week or two and a bull dozer I could fix that. :-) Lots of potential, but alas it's not mine to change yet. Maybe one day............
