The red indicator light in the instrument cluster flikers on and off even though my e-brake is not set. Happens alot when I take turns or go over bumps. Is there a sensor somewhere that I should check? This is a 98 Disco I. Thanks, Dan |

I have a D-90 so I am not sure if this will be the same for you.... I was having the same symptoms and all I needed was to add some brake fluid I have not seen the light come on since. check your brake fluid resevior hopefully this will help. If that dont do it then I dont know.. |

Phillip is correct. The E-brake light is also your brake fluid level idiot light. My D1 had the exact same problem and topping up the brake fluid fixed it. |

on a lighter note.... how would the trucks be losing thier brake fluid overtime.. I wonder if this should be a concern in the long run. I expect the thing to leak but the brakes do concern me a little., |

Correct me if I am wrong, I thought that as the pads wear, the pistons move farther out. If you were to add fluid, would pushing the piston back in when you get new pads cause the resevoir to overflow? matt |

Mine did it for about a year. I learned to live with it, then it suddenly didn't do it any more. Hasn't for over a year now. |
