I am in need of tires for my 95-disco. I'm looking for a 31x10.50, R16. At this point I'm looking for a tire that is comfortable on and off road. What type of Yoko's are people running. I've had good luck with Yoko's on other cars.

Any other suggestions?

Yeah I need new tires on my 98-disco and I was looking at yokos too for highway and light off road use. I think some geolanders would do the job. The stock ones that come on new g-wagens.

I just purchased a set of Yoko Geolandar AT + II's for my daily drivers. I've not mounted them yet but they look like they should do excellent on the asphalt and fairly good off road. I went with 245/75/16. I purchased them at www.tires.com for like $105 a tire including shipping and had them within days. They also had a 90 days same as cash deal if that helps ya.

Once I got my first set, I buy BFG-A/T's for life, regardless of how much more expensive they are. I do a lot of sand dune driving to surf and not much muddin', so grain of salt here, but they kick ass in the sand, and are quiet on the freeway.

I have the Yoko's and have been greatly impressed by them. They are great in all but the gooiest mud. I've used them in mud, sand, hard-packed dirt, and rocks, and they've really surprised me. I highly reccommend them for a daily driver.

Just me 2 cents but Goodyear MTRs have treated me really well, on and off road, same set for the past 18 months. And I really beat the snot out of the tires, then hit the highway and expect them to perform. They are a bit stronger than yokos in the treadwear, plus I have no fear of running over random shit in the road....

I have 38K on my Yoko Geo AT+ and still half the usable tread left. Great for a daily driver. Quiet, lots-o-grip, great in sand and have been pretty good in the mud too. I would recommend them highly.

I am running Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's. I have had these tires for about 1,000 miles, and so far I have been very pleased. They aren't the BFG MT's (like I had before) in mud, but in everything else they are great. I would have gotten another MT, but I needed to get something with more snow traction because I am going to college next year in the mountains of NC. In the snow and in the rain the B-Stones are big improvement. With the BFG's I would Hydro pretty easily, but with the Bridgestones they keep me connected to the asphalt well. It has rained all week here in NC, and in all the places I used to hydro I now have some traction. So that's my vote for an AT tire.

Corey and Neil, what's your input on sidewall scarring with the tires you're running.

I got the same tires Robert about 2k miles ago but I got them in 238/85/16 and I love them. Havent had time to go offroad but road wet or dry or snow as been fine.

No problems so far on VT and NH granite and NJ mud and sand. Very little scarring. I wouldn't put the sidewalls on par with the MT/R, but I do think it is a pretty stout tire.

I also have experience with the Yoko Geo MT's. If you don't have to worry about snow I would also recommend these. Only pitfall is they are unidirectional so for a spare you need to carry right and left spares, find a closely matched spare, or carry left tire and hope that you never get a flat on the right side...
