I am in contact with a company in Australia that manufactures a 38 gal. replacement tank for the Disco. I am confirming that it is approved for gas and not for diesel. Price is $590.00 US + s/h. Would others be interested in the modification to their rig? We could do a bulk order to reduce shipping costs. I will have an update in a few days concerning the gas/diesel issue and shipping charges.

I checked with the manufacturer and the tanks are approved for petrol. (FYI, they also sell stainless water tanks and auxillary fuel tanks that mount under the sills). The extra space in the 145 l tank comes from a larger main tank and a second tank that mounts behind the rear quarter panel. (i.e. behind the mudflap.) The tank holds 145 litres, that converts to over 38 US gallons. You can check out their website: www.longrangeautomotive.com.au to see if they offer a RR option. They sent me written installation instructions for all their Discovery tanks. If you are interested, drop me line directly and I'll send them to you.
