Hi all, I was interested is replacing my stock exhaust, from the Y pipe back with a system from NRP. Truck is a 96 DI, does anyone have any opinions on the system, how would it compare to a system from Borla? Thanks for your time. Matt |

I have a Borla and have gotten tired of the noise. It drones at highway speeds and is loud with windows down on the trail. I wish I had gotten the stock sounding stainless Falcon system from Atlantic British. I think the NRP is quieter though. |

Matt, i bought the full system and in my humble thoughts i must confess that by far its better than all the rest. nice bends clean welds, and its stainless! worth every penny. oh and the sound is not too loud, just enuff to let you know you have spent the money. mike w |

LandRover Owner International Mag vote it the best exhaust several years ago. I no longer have the mag. I just remember the article because I knew that someday I would want to replace my exhaust. |

Or hear is a crazy thought. Send me the $1200, I'll kick you in the nuts and have the exact same exhaust system made at my local Exhaust shop and keep about $700, $500 if you want cats. Of course it will only be aluminized, but then again it won't matter because it still will not rust and it doesn't make that damn tingy "Stainless Steel" sound all the time. Moral of this story, don't pay a fortune for something you can have done locally for a lot less. This is experience talking here. Larry |

Thanks for the opinions, the NRP D1 system goes for $529 plus about $50 for the shipping, a bit less then the Borla. I have heard good things about NRP, but just wanted to hear some owners views. have a good weekend, matt |

matt, i just purchased two exhaust systems, no cats from nrp and had them put on about a week ago. I like them very much. a bit nosier than stock, but not like a borla or flowmaster. they were put on my 95 disco and my 93 lwb. its a bit louder on the lwb i believe its because its a 4.2 vs a 3.9. anyway its really well made, tucks up nicely and appears to be very solid. |

Matt, I've got the Borla set up on my Disco I and a friend of mine has the NRP on his D90. I think that they're both about equal in terms of quality it basically comes down to what kind of exhaust note you want to hear from your truck. Personally I like the sound of the Borla exaust, but I've always been a big fan of loud engines (my other car is a 67 mustang with 3 1/2 exhaust and all the goodies)... I have the full NRP exhaust and I like it a lot -- palpable boost in power and well built. It has a nice gutteral sound, but not so loud that it scares every deer away within 5 miles nor does it sound like a redneck in a Chevy pickup truck. It's possible that you could get something built at your local muffler shop that would be equivalent to the NRP for less money, but I wouldn't count on it. The NRP is enginered for Rovers and tucked in so it won't get hung up off-road. ---Norm |
