Got a ticket tonight. I parked in a 4-6 zone without realizing it. The kicker is the fine, $60 bucks! Anyone know anything about contesting it? It was raining pretty hard out and there was a confusion of about 6 signs clustered together. That's my argument at least. Oh, and btw, they took down my expired Washington plate that I have on the front of my disco. The plate basically serves as a vanity and to cover up the holes in the plastic cover. It's been expired for almost 2 years now. |

i can't attest to the ordinances for the city you got skinned, but from my own personal training, i have to say that if you get a parking ticket you are better off paying it. its near impossible to beat and the cost of getting a shyster(hehehe) to represent you pales to $60. besides you were in the wrong take your lumps. ex cop |

that will probably be the general consensus, paying the ticket that is. I just think $60 bucks is too much. Oh well, I'll bite the bullet. thanks, Lrover94 |

the best way to aviod parking tickets is to get s police patch for the city you are in. I noticed that all the cops that worked at Camden Yards always parked their persoanl cars in tow-away zones. They put a Baltimore city police patch on their dash to avoid tickets and towing. I swear it this really works. For years I have had patches for DC Police, Baltimore Police, Hagerstown Police and Maryland State Police depending on where I park. Look on Ebay. You can get a patch for less than $5. I have |

I hate parking in downtown Richmond. It has to be the worst. I have never seen a city of that size with such limited parking and outrageous rates to park. Whenever I'm up there, I always meet my sales rep at the office and make them drive in and fight the parking. Mike |

my ex would call up the police department and tell them she had been drinking too much to drive home and that she was getting a ride home from someone else. and asking permission to leave the vehicle. they just asked for the make and model and they left it alone every time. pretty common practice from what i hear. ligit or not. |

GP that does work, most of the time, Neal displaying a police placard and not being a cop will get you arrested in most if not all venues, and 60 bucks is cheap compared to some of the univerities in ohio. currently in ohio if you park in a hand-cap zone and you don't display that silly ass wheel chair you can be fined 500 dollars and they can tow your car! it can always be worse. mike w |

i've never had to do that, since i live about 3 blocks from town and the bars. but it has and should work. if someone has the witts about them to ask for that the police really have no choice. nor should they. PSU has idiot sober students......add drunk and it gets ugly quick. |
