Hey guys, I know this is a tech. forum so I hope you don't mind a non-tech. post but I figure this is one of the best places online for the info I need. So I just totaled my Jeep ZJ a few days ago and am looking into getting a 96RR. I have been searching all over the web and haven't come up with many concrete sources for good reviews or basic info on this model year or even basic info on the Range Rover itself. Since I had a lifted Jeep for the past four years I really would like to have a nice stock vehicle so I don't really want a 'Classic' style RR. Can anyone give me some direction as to where to find good info and maybe some good photo galleries of this model and info on pricing? Thanks in advance, Adam BTW, here's a pic of my ZJ, RIP! http://web.utk.edu/~efreeze/adamszjsmaller.jpg |

No, I def. haven't ruled out a Disco since they are a bit cheaper and I love the vehicle. Why do you ask? Any reasons to get a Disco over a RR? Adam |

Hello Folks, I currently have a Jeep XJ with 4.5" lift, & 31s, but with the having two kids at pre-teens, and a little one in a car seat, space is really getting tight. I'm not one of those my Jeep is better than RR/Toys/etc. Believe me I have almost owned every type of offroad vehicle from Toy p/up, & FJ40 - Suzuki Samurai, and 2 jeep XJs. I actually need to get a Suburban, but I think thats too big. But I really like the RRC & the Disco, but just need some pros-cons on both. I'm not looking to lift it with 35s but maybe a 3" lift with 265s or so. Anyway can anybody help out and give me the low down on these two vehicles. It would be much appreciated. TIA,

Try www.autotrader.com and www.ebay.com for pricing. Personally I would go with a late model Disco II over the RR. The 4-wheel drive system and suspension is more straightforward and less troublesome. More broadly (in my opinion), the design emphasis from the typical British 'if it doesn't break for 12K miles its reliable' to more modern standards changed around the 99 model year. Of course its this Britishness that intrigues the rest of us that enjoy the field serviceable aspects of the older models. |
