Guys is the box that you use to reset the Service Engine light in a 97 Disco Red because I pulled the kick panel off and all I saw was a green and yellow box? Maybe I'm going blind. Could someone please let me know if it's another color or is it just further back behind those first 2 boxes I saw?

Thanks,
Raymond

That's where I got started from that picture and from just my first look I didn't see a RED Box for my 97 that why I was wondering if it could be a different color or located much further back.

The "service engine" box is not always a bright red color. It could be classified more as a "wine" color than fire engine red. The one on my 97 Disco was the highest and farthest forward of all the "boxes" under the right side panel. I opened the little box instead of just poking into the hole ( which there are two of) . I discovered a set of three pins on a connector much like you find on boards inside your computer. I didn't know which ones needed to be shorted together so I just shorted them all to each other and that eliminated the "service engine" light issue. There were two holes through which to probe and it was the offset hole (not the one in the center that I could have used had I not opened the box.
You must use a conducting probe to short the pins. Just poking in the box with a wooden or plastic stick will not do the reset.

Also... I recently went to Auto Zone and had them diagnose and reset a P0461 "check engine" error which, in case your collecting the codes, is a fuel level sensor/sender error. I haven't had any problem with my fuel gauge but it looks like I may.
