Just a bit shocked at the display of guns & knives on ya latest album. Hey, we're at war just as much as you guys are, no need to bring Discoweb into the fight. I'm no hippy, but I sure as shit don't want anybody pullin a knife on me. You guys just strokin a juvenile muscle?? Not sure where you're going with that stuff. gtt |

Greg, That's my album. I included those pictures mostly as a joke directed at a few other people who had posted similar subject matter in the past. Unfortunately, not everyone took it the right way. I think you'll find that a number of Land Rover enthusiasts also enjoy firearms. Often these people manage to enjoy both pursuits in an equally responsible and safe manner. Personally most of my firearms are either WWI and WWII relics or sporting shotguns so chances are unless your a 70 year old veteran or bird hunter, you aren't going to be too impressed by me. |

Greg, I would go so far as to say that here in the US, the portion of the population that enjoys actually using their 4x4 vehicles off-road, quite often is the same portion that enjoys and exercises their right to keep and bear arms, for either self-defense, or for hunting, or for pleasure-shooting at targets. Not everyone, I'm sure, but a lot. Firearms have long been a secondary topic on this site in the Non-Tech section here, and I would expect them to continue to be, also. (Not speaking for the owners of the site, just basing this on my own observations). Regards, -Leslie

I think, I think - not sure, but I think more people are killed by drunk driving than by guns. One of the safest places to be is either in Switzerland or Israel - because everyone has guns. When you get out of the compelled military service, you keep your service weapon. And everyone knows it. I think I heard somewhere that more people are killed by doctors mistakes, than by guns in the U.S. You might as well take away the right to drive and the right to have healthcare, if you take away the right to own a gun. A gun is an object, nothing more, nothing less - except for what the person makes of it. Same with your Rover, same with your kitchen knife, same with your baseball bat, same with rat poison.... |

Uh, RB, healthcare and driving are not rights in the USA... You have a right to vote (unless a convicted criminal), a right to free speech, a right to bear arms, etc. It's interesting to note that the government has the ability to deny us from hunting (not a right)and using sporting firearms (not a right, unless you could argue that this is necessary for a "well regulated militia") because the founder's reason for the right to bear arms is to allow us to protect ourselves from our own government. Somehow this is not popular with the anti-gun crowd (kind of fascist, don't you think?) Many anti-gun nazi's argue that the "well regulated militia" statement in the right to bear arms means firearms are not a right for private individuals but rather a corporate right, i.e. only National Guardsman can bear arms etc. It's thinking like this that will erode our rights. Australian's lost their ability to own firearms I believe 2-3 years ago and I also understand that violent crimes thereafter increased significantly. Any Aussies care to comment? |

Well having grown up in Israel (Beersheva) to be exact; indiviuals leaving the military do no get to keep thier service weapons. They do however keep thier weapons with them while on leave at home. Also, Greg is correct. Americans do not have the "right" to drive. Althought it is tought of as a right your licence to drive can be removed for lengthy periods of time; if not for ever (felony suspended). |

You don't have a "right" to drive on public roads. You can, however drive whatever you want, however you want on suitable private land. When you register and inspect a vehicle, you are just checking with the gov't to make sure it dosn't break any public road rules. This includes most primitave/unmaintained roads, and a few of the hard core trails out there. Cheers, Kennith |
