What is the factory LR paint warranty on a 95' disco? I have some minor rusting around my alpine lights...

10 years. Unconditional. I trook mine in last year for rust at the alpines and told them about the warranty. They didn't know anything about it, so they called (LRNA?) and said "Yor're right!"

Made an appointment and they fixed the rust and other sctatches in my roof, then repainted the whole thing!

It was pretty bad. I surf kayaks in the ocean and carry them up there, so the salt water did a job on it.

I have a silver 96 with apparent ghosting, oxidation like that spreads throughout the entire truck....I wax, buff, pray, and within two weeks or so...or when it rains...it comes back....apparently it may have something to do with the clearcoat....or lack thereof....do you guys think I should contact LRNA or just live with the likelihood that this could happen to a silver car...and that I am SOL..with a 96 D1 with no warrantly.....a new clearcoat would cost about 4000 thats what I was quoted at a one body shop

I can't thank you enough. I was going to tackle the job myself but I figured I ask. If my dealer gives me the business does anyone have a phone number or reference regarding the waranty?

What??

10-year warranty on the paint?!?! W/o regard to mileage? Wow.... I just may get my wife's '95 Disco's clearcoat blisters fixed.... and get the panels to match up, given that the hood and the roof are a different shade from the doors now.... Hmmm...

I had the typical rust in the back door jams on my 98 Disco. It is getting fixed by the dealer they told me that the warranty was 6 year unlimited mileage.

I know about the 6-year unlimited mile warranty on rust; I've never heard of a paint warranty before, though....

Is this a case of confusing the two, or are there two separate warranties out there?

I called the dealer and they said 6-years. So, I put a call in to LRNA and they are researching it... You think the customer service guys would could tell you what length your warranty was. They said they would have an answer within 2-days. I'll let you know the verdict.

Hi all,

I just went through this with the dealer in San Diego for my 97D1. I had the alpine window rust fixed approximately 6 mos. ago under the LR factory 6 year corrosion warranty, regardless of miles. No problems, they took care of everything.

I now have clear coat oxidation on the hood and took it back to the dealer. The warranty according to my owners manual and LR does not cover paint, unless it is due to rust corrosion.

I am not sure if the older D1's had a different warranty, but that is the deal for 97's.

Todd is right. My bad. I thought it was 10 years but it is 6. All I know for sure is that mine was fixed for free, and I had to tell the dealer about the warranty after reading about it here.
