I had my DII on the lift today and changed the diff oil. I had planned to do the transfer case and transmission too. But....I can't find the filler plug for either. Where are they located and how do you re-fill them? I am stumped. The mechanics that work at the shop, (I am on an Army base and have a lift and can sign out any tool you can think of) looked up the job on the computer and they could not find it either. What is the deal?--Matt

Hi Matt

Manual or automatic?

The LT230SE transfer box has the oil filler/level plug just behind the transmission brake at about 9 o` clock, it has a half inch square hole.
Best of luyk

Sorry, it is an automatic. The only thing that I could see the looked like a filler hole on the auto box had a sensor comming out of it. When re-filling transfer box do you fill up to the level of the filler hole? I guess I am going to need some sort of pump to get fluid up the that 1/2 inch square hole. Do you have any recommendations on this?

Hi Matt
Just fill up to the hole, You will need either a pump or a squeezy bottle, but it makes a right mess when it overflows, and transmission oil really stinks.
The auto box will have an obvious sump pan, toward the front you will find the filler plug.
It should be near enough, under the torque converter.
Best of luck
