My alarm system is going crazy due to my rear door not opening. I got the rear door problem fixed, and disconected the battery hoping it would reset the alarm, but it didnt.

Do any of you know how to reset or eliminate the alarm system?

Or disable the horn until i can sort out the alarm problem?

Thanks

Thomas

If it's a DII,
Do you have anything inside the vehicle that may be moving around (air freshener....etc)?

I've had problems with the windows down and the motion sensors mounted in the head liner (one above the drivers head and other in the cargo area) You may try popping the housing off and simply unplugging the sensor, then popping the housing back. Mine's been that way for a while with no issues and I know others on Dweb have done the same thing. (helps when leaving windows down and dog in the truck too)

I have a 94 D1.

When i re connect the battery the alarm light is blinking like the alarm is still armed and when ever i open the door the alarm goes off and stays on for about 30 secs even with the car turned on.

Hi Thomas,
There is a specific way to disconnect the battery,
Your vehicle may be fitted with a battery
backed- up sounder, which operates as an
anti- theft siren if the main battery is
disconnected. If it is necessary to remove the
main vehicle battery, it is ESSENTIAL to adopt
the following procedure before disconnecting
the terminals in order to prevent the alarm
from sounding:
1. Turn the starter switch ’on’ and then ’off’.
Then remove the key.
2. Disconnect the vehicle battery WITHIN 15
SECONDS (if the battery is not
disconnected within 15 seconds, the
back- up siren will sound immediately the
battery terminals are removed).
ALWAYS disconnect the negative (’- ’)
terminal first. When replacing the battery,
connect the positive (’+ ’) terminal first.
If the siren sounds when the battery is
reconnected, it CANNOT be turned off in the
normal way (ie. by operating the handset
buttons). To deactivate the siren, disarm the
alarm system with the handset and then turn
the starter switch to position ’II’.
Best of luck
Pete S.

I have already removed the battery and there was no alarm when I removed the terminals.

When I open the door after I reconnect the terminals I hear another the alarm other than the main alarm

Is this the back up sounder?

Can i disarm my main alarm by disarming the
alarm system with the handset and then turning
the starter switch to position ’II’. as mentioned above?

When ever I put my keys into the ignition the main car alarm turns on and stays on for about 30 seconds.

Does anyone know how to reset the alarm system on a 94 disco?

Thanks
