We passed by every day on the way to the site. Definately a hole in the wall town. But an ok place. The furniture market comes to High Point, which is 20 minutes away from Winston, twice a year. It is the largest in the world to my knowledge, so hotels are books in all the surrounding areas. Lived here most of my life and can't really see myself living anywhere else for very long. As far as wheeling goes, there is not much in Winston but we have Uwharrie National Forest about 1hr away near Troy, several places west toward the mountains and near the TN line, a few places near RDU about 1.5hr away and then there is always the Outer Banks.
