Check out Ashcroft Transmissions in the UK -- their rebuilt R380s are an improvement over the factory unit and they can probably ship it direct to you.

If all else fails, take the broken parts to a good machine rebuilding machine shop. It's a long shot, but you should see what the locals do for machinery here at the factory.

Peace,
Paul

Find Keith Kreutzer, he hooked me up big time with a rebuilt trans for my greymarket truck, its damn nice and it was an extremly fair price. If you have some time and patience I would track him down adn ask him. A bunch cheaper then ashcroft and roverparts

I've pulled out the 5spd Transmission from my 94 Disco. I swapped it out for a rebuilt unit. My old Transmission had problems with 2nd gear (would jump out and crunch going in). It is just collecting dust. I don't know if I should get it re-built or sell it on (for parts).

Just noticed that www.roversdownsouth.com has main shafts for r380s listed on their website

Frankly sounds to me like your shop doesn't want the job

The gearbox you have probably has the prefix "J". If you decide to rebuild it, try to get the parts for the "K" or "L" gearbox, these are much stronger.
