A friend of mine recently joined the Disco Owners family, 1998 LE for $10K. So far all the issues have been minor and easily fixed. His vehicle is equipped with front and rear sunroofs. the front sunroof shade clips are broken. Rover Connection sells the clips, the question is, how hard is it to change the clips, or would it be easier just to get complete shades from Rover Land or one of the other used places. I bought the rear window gaskets from Rover Connection in which they said replacement labor was around $15 per window... they were incorrect! it was $45 per window, a margin of error at 300%. Thanks, Mike |

Mike, I was unaware that you could just get the clips. In the past, I was led to believe you had to do the whole shade. Who knows... If you DO have to replace the whole shade, I believe you are going to have to drop at least part of the headliner down to do it. |

FWIW I got a replacement clip from the dealer for a few bucks but yeah a lot of people around here claim that it can't be done. I guess you could try calling Land Rover of New Orleans (where I got mine) and ask them to ship you one assuming they still have them or whatever. I know for a fact that they will ship stuff. |

I think the Rover Connection clips are only the fixed one, not the one on the shade. Search the archives for solutions. Mine is a bent loop of heavy paper clip wire screwed into a hole drilled and tapped into the plastic that remained on the shade. Entirely functional, and you can't see it when the shade is closed. Others have used the picture hook/washer combinations you can buy at a hardware store. John |
