It looks like I have a leak at my coolant pump, coolant has puddled at the right side behind the pump. I am wondering if anyone else has had a leak here? I am thinking it may only be the gasket. Is it possible that the pump may need to replaced or am I correct in thinking that it is probably just the gasket?

Thanks,
Eric

Water pumps have a small hole on the shaft housing that begins to weep (leak) when the bearing shafts are starting to wear.

Difficult to tell from the info you have provided, but off hand, I'd say get ready for a new pump.

Any noises?

Eric:
Check your hoses on top of the manifold before diving in. These hoses often leak with coolant puddling on top of the engine.

Usually, they fail and one will see coolant streaming down the lower radiator hose (if it isn't pouring out of the weep hole!)

I have not noticed any noises, well except for the clunking in my rear diff, but that is a different story. I can not see any coolant leaking anywhere, just the puddle behind the pump. I am sure if I just order the new gasket it will be the pump. Murphy's law and all.

Well thanks for the help
Eric
