I'm over visiting from the Disco side... I am thinking about a RR Classic for some daily driving and trail riding. What's the difference between SWB and LWB? Is one better?

LWB is the has a longer wheelbase of 108" compared with 100" on the SWB. All of that went to rear leg room. The LWBs also have the 4.2L instead of the 3.9L. Better is relative ... for an around town vehicle, I like the LWB just because of all the rear seat leg room.

The longer wheelbase means that the increased distance between the front and rear axles translates into a smoother highway ride. (The same reason that little cars feel choppier on the highway than big long towncars).

Off-road, the length may be a liability, depending on the terrain: if you're on twisty forested trails, the SWB would probably be nimbler, and would also have a better breakover angle. In some places, though, the extra length might be an asset (like going up a staircase-like configuration of rock outcrop...)

like our LWB for long camp and off-road trips. the rear cargo area is the same on both, yet, we can fit a cooler or other stuff behind the seats on the floor.

There are times when I wished I had a LWB for the extra room. Like Jaime said, you can fit coolers and such on the floor, that leaves you with more room in the cargo area. As far as offoradibility...that's purely subjective. There are places where a 90" wheelbase is perfect and others where 110" is perfect. However, 107" shouldn't be that detrimental since this is long as compared to a wrangler's wheelbase. If you have to do a six point turn with a 100", having a 107" wouldn't make it any worse.

During the Chilli Challenge (Las Cruces, NM) run, 110" was perfect for water fall crawling. The D90s had a little more difficulties in some of the places.

I'd get a LWB for an all around vehicle. It's comfortable getting to the trail, while you won't be able to do every single obstacle, you'll at least enjoy yourself nevertheless. Unless you have 35" and a serious lift, you won't be able to everything with a SWB either! Having to pack the dogs/kids/camping gear in a LWB should be nicer than my SWB for instance!

Just my .02 cents.
