My remote locker has always been a pain to use when locking/unlocking and I was wqondering if this was common with Discos. I just replaced the batteries yesterday and I still have to push the button very hard and also be really close to use it. Any suggestions? |

Mine is the same way. I've been told it's a Disco thing. After you replaced the batteries what sequence did you use to reset the remote? |

Yeah, its that way on my 96 D1. The dealer explained that it is intentionally designed to only respond when you are very close to the vehicle as a theft deterent mechanism. The idea is that it is possible to broadcast millions of combinations from a distance (say in a van driving down your street) and see which cars unlock. I don't know why most other manufactures have a longer range remote and are not worried about this supposed problem |

what is it with these remote controllers, mine has just failed after replacing the car battery - I thought maybe the internal battery of the remote is weak but it still 3v when i open it. Pls someone can guide us how to re-calibrate it. |
