Can anyone tell me where the brake light switch is and how easy or hard it is to replace and where I can get one cheap for a 97 Disco? My right and left brake lights are out and some people think it might be the switch. Thanks, Raymond 97Disco |

Raymond: If your brake light switch is out, you would not be able to put the truck into gear as it is interlocked with the brake pedal. Time to start over. D'Oh, jumper the two left-most wires on the switch that has no vacuum lines going to it, beneath the dash that is actuated by the brake pedal (extra points if you can point out all of my grammatical errors in that sentence). If you jumper the wires and you still have no brake lights, it ain't the switch. Cheapest place I've seen is Atlantic British for $19.95 plus shipping, but I buy them from Nathan a few at a time. Can you put it in gear? Peace, Paul |

Paul, I can put it in gear and the middle brake light works but the right and left don't work. I replaced the bulbs, bulb holders and all the fused pertaining to any and all lights and still no left and right brake lights. I thought maybe there was enough power in the switch to operate, but there was no juice from the switch to those lights that are out. What else could it be? Thanks, Raymond 97 Disco |
