My buddy's cheapie disintegrated on him. I ordered the real deal when it came time for me to decide, based solely on his experience.

I've noticed that a genuine serpentine belt that actually has the LR oval on it, also says Dayco on it, too....

FWIW...

don't skimp a few bucks for a belt from Pep Boys or some other crap belt. get a genuine or one of similar quality. is saving $5 on a belt worth it when you are walking along an interstate at midnight and the first stop you come to is a gay bar? you get my point.
i bought a cheap o one once at Valvoline in an emergency, but quicky bought a LR belt after seeing the generic start to turn to dust.

As long as you buy a top shelf brand - goodyear/ gates/dayco/pirelli you're fine - they all have been the LR OEM supplier at one point or another. bill

Why not just pay the 20-25 bucks from Rovers North? $25.00 does not seem over priced for a belt. www.roversnorth.com

But why pay $25 to RN and then wait on it to ship to you when instead you can go into NAPA and get the same Dayco belt for $18, and not have wait on it to get to you?

Does anyone have a NAPA Part number? I called NAPA and they told me thay did not have a listing for a Discovery. They did not have a listing on tie rod ends either. I also called Fishers, AutoZone, and Advance. No luck.

I don't have the number with me, but if you give them the Dayco number, they'll hand you the right belt....

PS: Haven't checked it in person, but a web-search indicates that it'd be a Dayco 5070885.... I'll have to look later to verify...
