Some things on my Disco I could be made to look a little different. I'm in the process of finding new rims (or trying to). I also would like to replace the factory/stock headlamps of my Disco I. Is there anyone, anywhere who makes a different style headlight to fit it, that has a bit of a different look to it? I dont like my truck looking a lot like other peoples disco, and i'd like to change the lights out. Any help would be appreciated. All smart ass comments are unwelecome.

Tape some Maglites to the side.

I found 3D's work pretty well. It is hard to adjust them while driving on the freeway though....

It was funny the first time to make a dumb ass comment, the rest of you guys just killed it. If there is no place to get different headlights then there was no reason to place a post for the rest of you people. I dont feel like wasting my time reading the stupid shit you type.

Dude you HAD to expect that. Asking for it not to happen is the same as asking for it hard and deep.

well.... try HID moduels that fit H3s.....
search for the new 03 disco headlights in the archives
you can get the 03 headlight and then put in a HID moduel
if time and effort and money is of no issue to you

THANK YOU USOFF TSAO!!! Finally someone with a real answer. I will call the dealer today and price all supplies i will need. My friend owns a machine shop, and a few of my other friends i am sure can fabricate a fitting, time and money aren't too big of an issue, after I get the lights in i will post on here with a pic. And the rest of you can keep making "funny" comments. Thanks a lot.

NorthwestParts.com sells the light assemblies pretty cheap. If your really serious about doing this post some pictures as this has been discussed many times but no one has actually done it.

Put it this way- There are much more cost-effective methods of mods that actually make a difference. If you own a disco, nobodys looking at the headlights anyway! Good luck with it though.

I know that headlight changes aren't the most cost effective mod for the disco, but alot of mods out there (and discussed on this board) are just for show. Even those useful racks, ladders, limb risers, and such. Yes, some just own them for looks. So be it.
I for one want to mod the looks of my truck as well as the performance for the simple reason that there are too many look alike disco's out there. On my one short street there are a total of 7 DISCOS!!! Making them one of the most common vehicles in my neighborhood. Thank god I'm the only one with a black one!
My point is, go ahead and put the lights on. You won't be able to fit the Disco 2.5 lights on a Disco1 though. Good luck. And if anyone ever does manage to stick some '03 lights on a DII, let me know... I would love to update my truck. Cheaper than getting a new one.

Try Autotoys.com
I saw a HID system there for $300? to 500? that might work.

Put an IPF wiring loom in and run 90w/145w bulbs. Get lights that are brighter or you might as well get a new hood and add some ricer lights that look blue but are no better. Get bulbs that create light, not that look lite!

Why wouldn't the conversion work. Have you guys compared them. The Dimensions are almost Identical. Some different trim pieces but thats about it.
Good luck, let me know how it works.

I was told the DI and D2.5 pieces were a different size. I should have clarified that anything is possible of course, but I was under the impression that you would need to modify a bit of sheet metal to get them to fit on a DI. I do not know that as a fact, that is only what I've been told. If you are really serious about doing it, I'm sure you will be able to manage it. I just don't think it would be as easy as a DII swap.

Yeah, the combination it creates is somewhat remincent of something American Motors would have put out. Almost a Matador meets Gremlin Sportabout on an Eagle drivetrain with Pacer cupholders.

As far as 2.5 headlights on a D1, I think it's going to take allot of $ and effort. Curious to see how it turns out.

i was at a car auction this past week and an AMC Eagle sold for $60!! i was tempted man. what an off road beast that thing could be. thing already had like 31" tires on it at least. so it was smoking a little, but a little TLC and she could have been a real looker!! haha
at some of these central PA auctions you see some really bad vehicles.

for the love of god that is great!! and i thought many of us here were freaks.........that site has set a new standard for sure.
and just think for $60 i could have been among that elite crowd. drop some 33" mickey thompsons on that bad ass machine, some KC lights, dual CB antennas and i would be king of Centre County PA!

Northwestparts.com sells the '03 lights for $237 each. They are available in European or North American versions (I assume that is just the way the lense is focused). I asked them what was required for the conversion... "Needed: New fenders, cowl, wiring harness, grille, and lights." On the DI the turn signals are rounded on the top, maybe all that would be needed is to cut [the fender] out to be a straight 90° (square). Possibly the above stated parts from a Disco IIa will fit a DI but I don't know for sure. Aren't the turn signals fiber optic on those or is that on the '03 RR?
