I have read the thread on this subject, and I asked my mechanic today. Yes, the lift will push your steering wheel over - it is a shorter distance between the wheel and the steering box when you are lower, so it pulls the steering over a little bit when you put the lift on. Anyway, you can adjust it as long as your alignment is otherwise correct. It is a simple operation, just screw in or out according to the way you need it to go, and tighten and drive to check. One big question though - which one do you adjust? The bar that is actually connected to the steering box on the front of the diff, or the bar that is behind the diff that is connected to both wheels and runs past the steering stabilizer? I understand it is the one that is connected to the arm coming out of the steering box - on the front of the diff - this would make most sense, because we are talking about the steering wheel being off, not the alighnment of the wheels etc. But I just want to make sure. http://landrover.mrbaileyshistory.net And yes, I will be putting up pictures and stuff regarding my new lift, but I've just been really busy! |

The Drag link is the one you adjust when you lift or lower a vehicle... When you lift it needs to be longer when you lower it usually needs to be shorter. The drag link attaches the pitman arm (the lever on the steering box) to the passenger side steering arm. The other rod is the tie rod which adjusts the toe in or toe out of the vehicle... Don't adjust this one. |
