Ok, so i added 2" spacers front and rear a while ago, and the front ones have the shock relocation plates to make up for the loss of travel. The rear ones, however do not, and now with the standard Bilstein shocks I have back there, the shocks are fully extended going over even small pot holes. So, heres the question, what is the easiest way to get back the 2" of travel I lost due to the spacer, or even 1" more travel out of my rear Bilstein shocks, so that they don't fully extend when im on a paved road? The only solution I could come up with was to lower my shock mounts, with a lower shock mount kit. By doing this though, wont my rear springs come out of their perches on the top, therefore making it necessary for me to get cones, which would then lead to the need for extended brake lines...etc??? I did, however, see an article on E.E.'s website that showed how to add like 1" of travel on to a OME shock by adding a metal piece onto the end of the shock and then re-adjusting the bushings. Can this procedure be done with the Bilstein's? or is there another way...or am I just gonna have to get a longer shock (which I don't wanna do)??? Anyone had this problem before, and resolved it successfully??? All help and suggestions are appreciated...and just for reference, the car is an 89 RRC...265/75/16 BFG MT's, OME HD springs all around w/standard Bilstein shocks, and 2" spacers all around w/the shock relocation plates in front. Thanks in advance, Ben Ziskind

The Scorpion mounts cost 50 GBP retail in UK not "under $50". That converts to $80 at 1.6 $ to the GBP. If you happen to be in the UK and buy them in person you can add 17.5% VAT to that (you may or may not get that back at customs) so now we're at $94. If you're buying from here, Scorpion doesn't take credit cards and charges 10 GBP ($16) for sending them a wire transfer, so now you're at $96 before shipping. Scorpion also has a policy of marking up their shipping so expect to pay at least 25 GBP ($40) to get them here. Now you're at $136? "...now thats profit..." I wish.. |
