Just curious if any one was running this on their Disco? What type of bumper would I need of will I have to "customize"? The thing is I have a souce for this type of winch for super cheap. I'm looking to get some install advice or feedback about this system if in fact anyone is ruuning it on their Disco. Thanks, John

I put the 12K on my D2. RTE slimline bumper. John says it fits, but it doesn't, although if you cut the end handle and weld it back at 90 degrees it fits perfectly.

BTW get the 12K its the same size, especially if you have a D1 as the PSP is not up to 1500psi.

Dean

Ps the cheapest place I found was TruckFarm.com

I mounted my 9K MM winch on the Safari Gard bumper. I had to trim off some of the end lever and open up the mounting holes to get the winch to fit.

Dean, my brother has the RTE slimline. There were no problems fitting the MM. There's plenty of room. The winch tray allows the bumper to be screwed in from the rear as well, which should help from rotating forward.

Mike was that the D1 or D2? And which winch was it? Because without cutting the end lever on mine the winch was about 3/4" off from center, and would otherwise require cutting a wider rectangle in the bumper and redrilling the fairlead holes.

My brother has a D1. The MM fit perfectly in the RTE tray.

My MM, however, did not. Like you, I had to trim the end lever. What I thought was interesting was Safari Gard claimed that they test fit a MM in the tray. No way could a winch fit in their tray and have the levers travel the full distance without hitting the side of the bumper that extends from the frame rail. I had to redrill the fairlead holes but the opening for the cable was ok.
