Replace my cap and rotor which lead to the distributor having to be rebuilt. Got everything back together now have check engine light on, glowing exhaust manifolds and poor performance, any ideas???? |

Would you happeh to know the correct timing for a 1995 discovery? I have a light and have located the timing marks. Also after I set the correct timing how do I turn off the check engine light? Thanks for the help. |

Set the timing to approx 6'BTDC. Turn light off by turning key to ON position, locate white serial link under passenger bolster. Disconnect serial mating plug, count to five, reconnect, turn key off. Wait for click indicating relay has dropped, turn key on, light should be off. Before you turn the light off, what are the codes? If the light remains on, it indicates more codes to be read-if necessary, repeat and read codes each time until the light stays out. |

It is a white connector with a wire that is connected to both sides of the connector. It has no other wires going to the opposite (mating) end of the connector. It should be fairly obvious, passenger side (NAS), directly above the footwell. |

Just a FYI, Paul's solution probably works best, but if you pull the fuse for the fuel system in the engine compartment, key the ignition on (dont start it), key it off, replace the fuse, then start it, the light shuts off. I thought that was easier then opening the panels, but whatever works |
