Had my airconditioning on for the first time in a while and some hot water would leak out on the passenger side footwell off and on. I assume there is a clogged line or something causing it to drain into the passenger footwell? Any help appreciatied. It is a Disco II.

That is usually indicative a bad heater core.

My 95 was doing the same thing. As I recall, there is a line that seperated. I just hooked it back up and it went away. The line will be near the "tunnel" or where you left foot is when in the passenger seat. It should be found below where the the plastic molding meets the carpet.

The condensate drains are almost certainly plugged and warm condensate is leaking into the footwell. The discharges of the condensate are tubes that exit the vehicle are adjacent to the transmission, near where the bulkhead meets the floor pan, you'll see the ends of the tubes.

If the water that is leaking causes the windshield to fog up, it is the heater core.

Peace,
Paul

Thanks guys. I am hoping it is just the condensate drains since it didn't cause the windshield to fog. I will check it out tonight.

Make sure that you let your car cool off before you do it or at least don't run your AC so that the water doesn't get hot. When you un-clog the tubes the water is going to run straight down your arm and you don't want to get scalded.

Nope, no mildew smell that I can tell. I did hear some gurgling noises when I first started the engine up though. I have not had a chance to check the drains yet.
