I have noticed lately that my rear cargo door has rattles frequently. I thought that my door is not positioned properly and that is the cause of the rattling. I noticed though today that the rear door lock does not lock. It tries to go down but is prevented form going all the way down so now I think it is the lock itself. I am just wondering if there is anyone out there that has a solution or could kindly guide me to a previous thread about this. Your help is greatly appreciated. Chris |

Mine goes down then comes back up. No rattling though. So you are not alone.

Hi Chris Try moving the pin around, this will undo like a normal bolt, loosen it and keep trying. There is a wedge shaped piece of metal on the door and this needs to sit in its corresponding holder on the frame exactly, in order to stop the rattling. Best of luck. Pete S. |

Make sure the mounting bolts holding the door locking jaws are tight. Mine was rattling a few months ago, and I finally looked at it one of the bolts was gone, the other was loose. Made me feel pretty dull as I had overlooked the noise for too long. Sometimes I amaze myself at how stupid I can be. -Rick |

I had the same problem on my Disco, the dealer told me to move the locking pin on the chassis a few mm back. This is easily done just by unscrewing it with an allen wrench and pushing it back, re-tighten it and check to see if the vibration is gone. Be carefull not to push it to far as the door can shut really tight and be hard to re-open. |
