I installed a set of Hellas on my factory A-bar. The previous owner had a set of lights there as well but took them off when I bought the truck. So the 2nd switch was already there. Everything works with the lights, except the switch doesn't light up. What am I doing wrong?? |

What kind of switch is it? Is it a five pin LR contact switch or a Hella rotary switch? More info Man! |

Hi If it is a LR switch it should be fed with a 12v supply that is live only when the lights are switched on. just take the switch next to it out and wire it up to that one. Pete S |

It a L/R fog light switch. And there are two wires currently pluged into it. |

Hi Do you have a switch next to it in the dash? This will light up, if you remove this one you will see probably 3 wires to it, one of these will be the illumination cct, just tap into this one and place onto the bulb of your fog light switch. If you only have two wires, then it is no surprise it doesn`t light up. Let me know what switches/options you have and contact me for more help, I have all the wiring diagrams here. Pete S |

There are typically 5 pins on the rear of the switch. If memory serves me correctly, they are numbered on the plastic housing. If there are only 2 wires on the switch, it is probably just acting as a switch with none of the fancy bells and whistles like an illuminated pilot light when the switch is closed, or having the little fog lamp symbol illuminate with the rest of the dash panel switches when you turn the vehicle parking/headlamps on, etc. In its current configuration, it is probably just taking the +12V into PIN 1 and, when the switch is closed, feeding that +12V out of PIN 4 to, presumably, the relay that controls the lights. PIN 2 is +12V in for the swtch illumination (the bells and whistle lights) and PIN 5 is GROUND to complete the bells and whistles light circuit. Wire up PINS 2 and 5 properly and it should work - verify a good +12V and GROUND source. Make sure that all of the pins are isolated from one another (heat shrink tubing or whatever you choose) so no shorts occur, as space is tight in between pins. PIN 3 is not used. Good luck kirk |
