Guys I fixed the rear windows the other day using the tech bulletin of soldering the Window ECU and it worked great, but now my fuse for the rear windows keeps blowing and I have to pop a new one in just to roll my windows back up while I'm out. Any idea why this keeps happening and what may be causing it and how I could fix this problem? Thanks in advance Raymond 97 Disco |

You just reminded me that mine doing the same thing. Anyone know where the relay for the HRW is. I'd like to isolate which section of wiring the short is in ie from switch to relay or from relay to HRW |

Hmm, it started after you resoldered the PCB, eh? Did you use the "huge globs of bubbling pipe solder" approach? A trace continuity test might be in order... |

Hi guys What year are we talking about? Take a look for K122 and this should be behind the fascia near the fuse box Pete S |

Hi Raymond I really think you will have to double check your soldering, and any wiring you disturbed. Have you replaced the fuse with the correct amperage one? Pete S |

Pete the fuse was already blown before I soldered so I replaced it with a brand new one same amperage and it worked great, but a day later the fuses blow again and I popped another one in there and it worked great but again a day later it blow again. So you don't think it could be the wires in the door? |

Hi Daniel I would still suspect the ECU as this is where you were working, take a good look at your soldering, is the joint OK? what was wrong the first time? did you earth yourself when handling the PCB? did you overheat the board and possibly melt a component, did you use a heat sink where necessary? My best advice is to see if any one will lend you a PCB, and then prove it works. Have you tried looking for a used one? Best of luck Pete S. |
