I am needing some inspiration, so I thought I would ask you all to share what you have on your personalized plates. We just picked up a 92 County and I need to give it an identity. Our 99 D2 has "HR ROVR". The "HR" is abbreviation for Hour, so the plate reads - Our Rover. Next? Bud   Paul D. I looked for stickers, posters, dolls, toys, etc. I was using a Rhino to support a 2004 Budget/Tax/Finance/Strategic Audit Presentation, and I had no luck finding one. I tried a number of different combinations (MTN2SEA etc) but that was the only available one. EVERYBODY in Virginia has personalized plates...and mine has a nice mountain scene on it! It's also called the Goldie Box by my friends. Todd, my first car was a green 1979 Mercedes Diesel and my license plate was TURTEL b/c it was green and slow. Unfortunately, everyone thought I couldn't spell b/c I was in high school, but the true spelling was taken. So I drove around for 18 months with BOWULF. What a cluster to say the least. Anyway, I picked up my rhino in a store we have in one of our malls here in VA. The store is called something like animal kingdom or such. All they sell is animal related things like art, stuffed toys pictures etc. They have a whole slew of little plastic animals, I think I paid like 50 cents for it. It is small but noticable. My boss has a ceramic rhino on his office shelf that is green and white. I told him he better glue it down or it might disappear some day!!! She battled for a long time to get it through. I believe the law stated no reference to an ethnic background could be displayed on a license plate. I believe the plates belong to the state and the yearly fee is for road taxes. I thought it was a joke and a waste of taxpayers money to fight such case. He wound up opening up an off-road accessory shop by the same name. Nows he's got a half-dozen FLY-N-HI Off-Road Centers. He sells T-Shirts and novelty plates and beer coozies that read FLY-N-HI. He's a bajillionaire now because he thought of a clever license plate for his crappy, rusted out 4-wheeler 20 years ago. Kind of makes you want to smack yourself in the forehead and say, "Why didn't I think of that?".
