I wired my work light to the rear of the vehicle by carefully running the wire down the inside of the truck, under the tread plates in the doors, under the carpet and up behind the trim to the light... I don't want to do that again with my trailer brake control...

Is it prudent to run the wires down from the engine bay, along the underside of the body - perhaps between the body and the frame - secure it in place with large zip ties?? I would protect the wires of course with the plastic tube stuff, but the basic question remains. It seems like it would be much easier.

There are photos of the work light wire route on the web site.

I ran all of my rack lights down the drivers side of the windscreen. Here's how I did it. Forgive me, I don't have my digital camera to supply a picture of my work. I went to home depot and purchased "outdoor" double sided wide tape and weather stripping/molding. The molding has a profile (if looking at the end of it) of a lightening bolt-I hope that makes sense. I ran double sided tape near the edge of the windscreen running veritcally. With great care, I placed each wire (5 of them) on the tape and pressed down. For an example, get a piece of tape and lay a bunch of pencils side-by-side on the tape. That is what the wires should look like on the tap. Once this is done, place another piece of double-sided tape on top of the wire(sandwiching the wires between tape). This will cover the wire. Place anthor piece on top of it. Take the molding, cut it to length, and stick one of the edges into the "slot" on the pillar running vertically. I then ran the wires into the engine bay from there. I'm going to add a plug that will make removing the rack easier w/o removing tape, wires, etc. If you have email, I have a powerpoint file that may explain better.
