While I have had some experience with buying a Land Rover from another country, I may be in a position to ship a vehicle to a potential buyer in UAE.

I live closer to Philadelphia than Baltimore, but could ship from either place. I am sure there are inspection requirements, but I haven't a clue as to which companies to call and how much it could cost this buyer.

Just throwing this one out there for anyone who can point me in the right direction!

Thanks in advance,
Brad

Shipping it out should be no issue. Call a shipping line or company and book it RORO, drive down to Baltimore and drop it off and there you go. Waleneus Whelemson (I KNOW I spelled that wrong) shipped Dom's 109 from Aust to Baltimore for ~1700.

The issue is any import regs UAE has, don't think there are any major ones like the US, but you would have to look into it.

Thanks for the info Ron.
You know that J**p I bought last year? It's GONE...to a guy in UAE. He says he has the shipping thing worked-out, but I will look into it on this end to make sure the deal goes through.
After much negotiation, my wife gave-in to a Disco II (the name's Elmo...same color that Clifford was except they call it Rutland Red now). Not the same as a Series (give me a year or two and I will have another!), but we are back in a Landie!
Cheers, Brad

I saw that! Good show Brad.

Shipping is really scary but once you actually go and do it no biggy.

Ron

Ps make sure the check clears before the jeep ships out!

You know it...my main prerequisite was that the whole deal go through electronically, so I will be watching that e-account!

Take care, Brad

Brad,

I don't know a whole lot about e-transactions, but you might wanna make sure that once in, the buyer can't retract the sale and get his bucks back directly out of your account. I don't think that'd be likely to be able to happen... but it certainly can with some direct-deposit arrangements. (Sorry to bring it up!) Also, might wanna check the ol' Dept. of Homeland Security list (actually... call customs) and make sure you aren't stuck with fees you don't know about, nor restrictions on shipping to certain countries. Last I heard, the UAE were in favor though. :-) Oh, and wouldn't sell the guy anything that doesn't have an AC unit working realllly well.

I don't know how hard it is but I sail on ships. One shipping line I worked with did ship cars on a Ro-Ro from the US to the Middle east and Back to the US. The company is Central Gulf (New Orleans , La) and is US owned. Their ships go to ports on the east, Gulf and west coast of the US. We also went to Dubi, UAE, Kawait City, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. I think they have a steady service over there, (American cars in big demand in Middle East). I think they have a web site but am not sure.

Thanks again for all the great input. I hope to hear back from the buyer in Abu Dubai today so we're hoping the wire transfer goes through.

Then I will find-out how he plans to get his J**p.
