I have the hella euro beams. There are 2 different hook ups, one that states: If you are using a circuit version with additional parking light functions in auxiliary lamps, or If you are using a circuit version without additional parking light functions in the auxiliary lamps what is the difference? I don't want them to be on all the time, and I would like to be able to cut them on without the parking lights being on. But i would also like them to cut off with the truck. Which one do I need to do and what is the differences? And how do you mount the switch, it doesn't look like theres a way to mount it. thanks in advance |

Ok i guess that the differences is if it has "city lights" or not, am I right? But on the harness instructions it shows a green wire going into the headlight at point (56a) that goes to the switch. Where do I tap into the headlight wire at. I'm guessing that is the headlight power wire?

Check this out for tips: http://catalog.com/susq/other/harness.htm I used the following method, works great: - remove the switch and green wire with the switch from the harness - get a single-pole/double throw switch, center off - connect the center of the SPDT to the green wire to the relay - connect one side of the SPDT to your hi beam live - connect the other side to unswitched power Voila! Now you've got two options. Your lights can be on *any* time, all the time. Or you can have them just come on when you hit your brights. As you can see, there are other variations you could tap. Here is where I got the switches, with minor trimming they fit right in the binnacle pod. SPDT Center Off Switch |

Blake, That is refering to the city light feature. If you don't have the city light, and most likely you don't, follow Michaels method. You can get easy access to the headlight wiring behind the head light itself. |

Blake, http://www.discoweb.org/lights I cut the yellow city light wire out of the harness. For wiring, I used the Hella harnesses, but cut away the hella switches. I used LR rear wiper switches and installed them into the binnacle. Don't forget you also have the option of using the Rangie "Six-Pack" switch set that can be installed into your ash tray or coin tray slot. Blake, if you like the Hella 'twist' switches, then you could install them into you overhead somewhere. There are some very explanitive threads in the archives about the Hella 4K.

I should also say, I tapped all of my power from under the steering wheel so only one wire has to run into the vehicle (relay switch), it's all there, unswitched, dipped, main, parking, etc. Mine's 99D2, I'm sure the wires are different for a D1 but they're all under there. |

Thanks for the help> I have it hooked up and everything, but I was wanting to use a factory switch. The hella switch has 2 wires going into it. Which switch would be easy to use, and where do I put the 2 wires into. thanks |
