I'm curious about a dash warning light I saw on a Discovery I was looking at. It had a string of letters with S's in them, maybe a D or an M (?) ... and stayed on. The owner noted something about it being related to installation of an aftermarket CD player (and suggested they'd be fine on having it checked and the code cleared - or if other issue, a fix) prior to selling. Does this sounds familiar to anyone? Thank you. (Sorry I don't have the whole string of letters present... the location, if I recall, was in front of the driver, perhaps just slightly to the left in the field of view.) |

Ah, okay... it's the SRS light. (So much for the 'd' and 'm') |

It's possible to trip the SRS (airbag) light when the battery is disconnected, so their story may be true. It's a dealer-only (or independent with Autologic or Rovacom) reset, so by all means, have them pay for the reset, and don't buy until the mechanic verifies that the code was only caused by the battery.
