Does anyone know how many were imported to the U.S., were they the 300 or 200, and what is the latest year they came? I distictly remember seeing the Tdi badging on some Disco's in San Francisco before I bought my V8i back in the 90's... Why don't they import the 2.25 Tdi in the Discovery now? Is there a NAS issue, or just an import / export regulation at work here? I'm all hopped-up on wanting to run SVO, bio or conventional diesel and would love to score one of the few Tdi's and not pay for a conversion. e |

AFAIK, the Tdi's never made it across the pond. There are a few vendors doing that conversion for roughly an arm and a leg. Glenn |

Erik, No original Tdi vehicle was legally imported for legal road use. LRNA has some in the country, but not that were sold. You must've seen some that people stuck stickers on, I'd guess. The last legal Rover diesel imported for sale in the US would've been a '74 2.25 Series III 88", AFAIK. Also: the 200 Tdi and 300 Tdi are both 2.5-liter engines. If you want a (legal) diesel Disco in the US, you're gonna have to convert it, or, find one that's already been converted. -L
