What is the general consensus on what springs to get to lift a Disco? I am especially interested in comparing OME with the Bearmach Big Blues. Right now my disco is stock but eventually plan to custom build a front and rear bumper, possibly with a winch. I also plan on replacing the 235/70/16 Michelin XPC's with 235/85/16 Dunlops so I am looking for a bit more room in that well. Will I still need to trim the aluminum with these higher springs? Lastly, Which shocks compliment these various spring set-ups? Thanks for the help... -Ethan M '94 Disco '67 SIIa |

235/85's run fine with a 2" lift instead of mounting other springs you can also mount spacers between the the spring cups and the axle's email me for a drw. if you want one roald |

I would not use 2 inch spacers with stock springs. That is just asking for trouble. I really don't know how many people around here personal experiences with multiple brands of springs, maybe Kyle I don't know. I hear that the Bearmachs sag pretty bad and that OME don't give a full 2 inches, I have been happy with my Rovertyms the rears sagged but where replaced. The archives are full of these debates you should probablly poke around there. If you are more concerned with the lift than ride the new 'lift measurment' thing in the tech section might be of help, I'm not sure how many non OME set ups there are documented in it though. I will go measure my RTEs today if it stops raining and send the measurments to Ho. |
