I had my DII in for work a while back and they rebuilt the transfer case. Then when I had my oil changed a week or so ago I pointed out the transfer case leak seemed to still be there. Low and behold they said it was still leaking so they rebuild it replacing two gaskets etc... So about two weeks have gone by and I am driving along and happend to put my can of Red Bull between the gear selector and the HI/LO selector. The HI/LO shifter seemed to move easily. Not much but enough that I went to the top of my parking garage and went to select LO. Holy sheeet ! The shifter had not been hooked up to the T-Case. The shifer moved freely and the chime didn't sound at all like it does when LO is engaged. Off to the dealer again. Honest mistake on there part I hope. My question is how is this possible and would it cause any other damage I should have them look for? Sorry for the long story.

Rocks in my tranfer case or my head? I wish I had the time and mechanical now how to do my own warranty work. As far as brakes and the small stuff, I am ok with, but, I let the dealer handle the t-case, rocker arms, head gaskets, etc.. If I wasn't a Rover freak, I would have dropped this truck off with another sucka. Anyway. Nothing is noticablely wrong except the lever and not being able to use Lo.

LOL - I meant that your dealer sounds about as dumb as a pile of rocks. You should have them do all warranty work (you paid for it when you bought the truck, hence the term "warranty", and you will void the warranty if you do it yourself) but it sucks that they screw it up so bad.

My trucks factory warranty just ran out 300 miles ago too. Maybe I should talk them into a free Center Diff Lock linkage install when they hook the lever back up. They owe it to me :-) It's a 2001 but a very early one so it should have the nub under there. Hmmm
