Can someone tell me if I change the body electronic control unit on a 95 4.0, do I have to have the replacement programmed for that vehicle or is it just plug and play? I think I remember reading somewhere that the lock, security codes are stored there. I have a couple of little electrical gremlins that lead me to believe that mine might be faulty. In reverse the mirrors dip, but the passenger mirror stays down untill mannualy repositioned. and a couple of other little things. Thanks, Ronnie |

If you replace it and then drive a little while certain settings which are programmable with Testbook will become permanent. Your key pushbuttons won't work, and the truck may not even start if the alarm won't synchronize with the motor. You may get an odometer discrepancy error on the dash. Once the settings are permanent you will have to send it back to LRNA for unlocking via your dealer. I suggest you not do this yourself. |

Thanks for the advice. I guess I can live with the little gremlins unless something major happens. It sucks that everthing runs into that damn unit. I,m going to look at the wiring diagram of the mirror and see if I can disconnect the reverse dip. I,m also having a problem with the cruise but that may not be related. I,ll have to rule out everything else first. Thanks again for the advice, Ronnie |

Who do you know that will unlock it? I cannot find a dealer in the Southeast that will touch mine. My 96 won't start and I think the alarm has it locked out. Thanks |

I'll see if I can answer 2 questions here. You can turn off the reverse dip by: with the car in reverse and key on push and hold the memory buttons. As far as the unlocking Land Rover has a 0nce-lock program where the dealer can send them back to Rover and get them unlocked. That is for the programable options that are locked in during programing. |
