My Disco I just turned 100,000 today and I wanted to know: a). What checks and services I should have done. b). Who has the best deals on "Service Kits" that include filters, belts, etc.

Congrats, Rob! Mine is 108k and I was so proud when it hit 100 too! Our Saturn has 225k now and I can only hope the Disco will get there with the right TLC. :-)

As for your questions, first do a Search on this board for "60k service". That's always a good chunk of preventative maintenance and if it was done between 50k and 60k initially, you're probably due. There are some alternatives to some steps (such as dropping the oil sump) and everyone around here has their opinions that we like to share! If you have questions about some details, always try a Search first because it's probably been answered, but if you can't find it then just ask. "A man that does not know and asks a question is a fool for five minutes. A man that does not know and does not ask is a fool for life."

As for "kits", I'm not sure where you live but there are a number of business that specialize in Rover parts / accessories. Many of them have kits already put together such as "hose kit" that have all the ones you need and usually a little discount. Here in NE I like to deal with Rovers North and Atlantic British. Both provide fantastic service, quick turn around on orders, and are willing and able to answer my questions. Also, a quick note to help cut down on possible flame wars here: I know there are other great companies out there, and that these two are not the best choice for everything, but Rob was asking specifically about maintenance kits and that's what I'm mostly addressing)

Good luck!!! Keep that Rover healthy and it'll keep you happy!

Also, somewhere on www.edmunds.com ... you'll find lists of all the routine maintenance needed at the different mileage levels.
