Hi- I've been reading this board for months and it is an absolute wealth of knowledge...this is my first post so go easy on me... OK I was trying the rear window tech fix and I actually managed to get out the ECU circuit board yesterday ("15 MINUTES" my $#@) but I didn't have time to do the soldering so I reconnected it WITHOUT that cover plate on. Nonetheless today when I tried to remove it the smaller connector was an ABSOLUTE mother to get off- like it was locked on without that cover plate there so I pulled the card with it still connected to try to get a better grip. Well it grounded against the metal plate above the fascia...saw some smoke and realized I had fried the board...finally got the clip off and could see some of the fine copper circuit tape had burned away - and you know you can't solder that. 2 Questions... 1. Anyone know of a cheaper price for the window lift ECU than $109.95 (Atlantic British)? 2. How do I get the passenger front window up without the power? Is it difficult to manipulate the regulator once the panel is off? Moral - disconnect the negative battery cable!!! Thanx in advance - Todd |

Is it possible to put 12V to the window directly to get it up - via a direct wire between the (+) battery terminal and into the connector for the regulator - would this work??? Please any Help would be most appreciated... |

yes that would work. Find the 2 main wires going to the window motor. It is a revesre polarity system so just put 12v on one and ground on the other. It the window goes down just revesre the wires
