My D1 marked its territory for the first time. One little oil drop appeared on the driveway yesterday. It took 6 years and 136K but we are marking our turf now. I was begining to think I didnt have a rover. |

You know why the English don't make TV's? ....cause they can't figure out a way to make it leak oil! 136K...that's awesome! |

ha ha, I've never heard that one Steve. charles, be sure to tell your rover it has nothing to be embarsed of and that sort of thing is perfectly natural. |

What you have found Charles is the Land Rover built in RUST PREVENTION SYSTEM. I'm surprised that it took so long before it activated. |

Charles, I think LR is in the oil business. In my 1994 300 Tdi auto the rear crankshaft seal was replaced at 32,000 KM, and has gone again at 105,000 KM. The sump seal has gone twice. All three transfer case seals have leaked; input, intermediate and rear. Transmission rear seal, power steering seal, front differential pinion. Now the front crank case seal looks as though it has gone. There is so much oil sprayed underneath the vehicle it looks like any other Land rover vehicle. Have faith!!! Jack |
